G-Wagon 40th Anniversary at Mercedes Brooklands
Calling all G wagon owners new and old.
Calling all G’s allover including Ireland, isle of man, UK And Europe meet to celebrate 40 Years of our G beloved G’s at Mercedes Brooklands for a big gathering this Summer.
I am speaking to Mercedes Brooklands about the event, i need solid numbers as i want to invite a certain Mercedes magazine crew to accomodate us on photos and writeups
Date will be confirmed once we have enough attending etc.

Gooch - are you going to limit this to GWOA members? I have seen a couple of G Wagens round and about. If I come across the drivers again I could let them know about this. Of course it would probably be best to do that once you have a date set.
I get on quite well with the service manager at my local MB dealership. Once we know the details I could ask if he would let any G owners on their books know about it too.
Hi mate fair point, at this rate we wont achieve much, so anyone invited, but we need names/tel numbers to go on etc. Maybe we need to ask GWOA for cashing in on doing some flyers with contact details etc.
Ok let me speak to magazine and get a set date, i need to check theres no risk on my part as im just trying to hook people up for the machines we love!

May I suggest trying to invite the Pinzgauer Club and they chip into the event as well. This could also bloster the number of attendants too.
I would like to be there and looking into how to make it happen. I will forward you with some of my own ideas and if I can assist you in any research or any thing of this nature, I am willing to help if at all possible.

A thought - not sure how far along you are with your discussions with the people at Brooklands but have you thought of signing up all those attending for a go on their 4x4 course?
I'm sure it would encourage more owners to come along.
Maybe they would give us a group or club discount and maybe the GWOA could pay? There is lots of money sitting in the club's bank account.

This is the thing..... i dont know anyone whos actually running this website anymore hence the reason why im trying to keep this clean cut.
Basically whoever wants to come then come have a picture, have a chat and magazine feature and good get together.

Hi to be honest i cant see the numbers on GWOA......
Maybe we need to stick to a realistic 15-20 cars???
I'd love to come along but sadly my G Wagon will be a long way off being on the road. Date is important as we are on holiday in June. Anyone in the Bristol area or passing enroute fancy a passenger happy to give a contribution towards fuel. It'd be nice to travel to the event in a G, I've only driven mine a few yards round a yard so far.

As much as I would dearly like to be in attendance and after careful thought I have decided it would not be prudent for me not to come.
Logistically; on grounds of my mobility and other issues, I am too much of a liability to myself to take on such an outting. To the rest of you enjoy your day and please post photos, photos and more photos to encompass the atmosphere of the event.

Yes i have two dates but not up for negotiating by anyone these are the only dates
I have both MB World and the magazine on this but we are negotiating a firm date based on these two.
Please i need exact numbers by next week from everyone please.

Fantastic job on getting this far! My apologies for not standing up sooner, but was waiting for potential dates, although always suspected to be difficult as every weekend already booked, as is unfortunately the case. Also thought initially it was planned for later in the year, so to see June dates has somewhat surprised me.Hopefully still get a good turnout and interested to see plan of day.

Good luck with the event, unfortunately my truck is in the bodyshop having a full and proper body refurb, so no chance of having her back in time !
