G Wagen Meet - Time for a get together everyone - Silverstone Saturday 31st July
Hi everyone!!
I would be interested in getting together
Does anyone have any place in mind?
ie: Pub meet? Car event Or Sunday Carvery
Cheers
Goochie
Hi, events coordinator :) hows everything.
A simple meet would be good and I was thinking the same. As a suggestion, there are a couple of MB Club UK events I was thinking of going to:
Ace Cafe, N.Circular, London. This Saturday 17th July. (I might venture there again just for a trip.)
or more likely - The National meet - Silverstone Classic July 30th - Aug 1st

My vote is for Saturday 31st at Silverstone. There will be an entry cost, but the big advantage is that no matter how many GWOA members turn up, there will be plenty of MB (including Gs) to see. We can arrange a meet location there. Maybe even a GWOA pop-up banner to mark it. I'll get some more details.
As an older, much bigger and MB backed club, these events are worth tagging onto. Separately, why not have the GWOA reach out to get aligned/linked with them, just for Gs.
so is that 6pm meet for Mercedes owners club, just had a look on the Ace cafe website
Year fair enough. I don't want to be there with all the MX5 crowd! At least see what other Mercs are there. Lets say 6pm then. And I'll still get a burger.
Where were you goochie?? You ditched again. That's twice mate.
It was a cracking sunny day. Still 27C at 6pm. About 40 Mercs of all genres, and my G350. Another silver LWB swung in, but I was busy chatting Gs with some folks and I think they went to park elsewhere. If it was someone here... we didn't connect.
Some quite rare special cars like an SL60 and a 2.6 190e. Plus a 1957 one in the pics here. My favourite.
The all day breakfast was also very good, with a summer Guinness.
Let's see if anyone is up for a day out at Silverstone in 2 weeks time on the 31st July. We are too late to have a 'Club' participation with a parade of cars etc (let's sort that next year), so we have to just go as regular spectators and make a day of it watching the packed race card. It costs a tank of fuel for that Saturday, i.e. £70.
I'm up for it...
Hi - are you able to share more details of the club event at Silverstone - from the website it appears unless I join I can't access any information? i.e. in addition to the tank of full what else, costs, racing, events?
Cheers,
Stewart
Hi Stewart,
To be clear, its not a GWOA event, but a chance to 'meet up'. We are too late to have a GWOA representation (with a stand, parade of Gs etc, and will aim for that next year).
This is the Silvertone Classic. All comers invited, from Aston Martin to Westfield and Mercedes Benz.
There will be an 'official' Mercedes Benz Club stand, but nothing to do with GWOA.
The format will be:
Pre-Meet outside Silverstone, in the Car Park opposite the entrance to the Silverstone Gold Club and Hotel (I think its a driving range parking): 11am (check this time doesnt change to 10am).
I will have some GWOA goodies (odd size previous year shirts etc)
Grid Ref:
Enjoy the days event. Meeting point during the day is the Mercedes Benz Club stand.
The cost of general admittance is £71 (like I say - a good tank of fuel, but its a full day, with lots on)

I want to watch the Masters Historic F1 Memorial race at 13:10hrs
I will circulate on FB and Register for wider knowledge.
Thanks for info - just checking , but £71/car or £71/person?

I bought mine. Its per person and I got 2. Hence the pre-meet for those that don't want the whole day thing.
OK, so the meet up is still on.
We lost this website for a couple of days, but its back.
Note the car park meet time is 11am (not 10am). So if you fancy swinging by at that time, but aren't coming into the Classic show then that's the time. Some GWOA apparel for those that do.
Helllllo good Sir !
To be honest I am up for anything even both LOL
Maybe we could shout out to other MB clubs?
Come on people
Maybe we could start a list??
