I've been getting 460 parts from MB or from Autodoc, or from here if people have good second hand parts available.

Although Autodoc are efficient (being in Germany?) it still takes time to get them and any returns are hassle.  They don't provide an eta and tracking is hit and miss.  It means aligning with other work is harder, and booking time at garages etc is guesswork.

So I thought I would try 123spareparts.co.uk.   Looked familiar, but prices OK and I figured would arrive quicker if in the UK.  But again, this is just a trading name of Autodoc to get your business, and again no delivery time provided etc.  Similar with MB as the parts often come from MB Germany.

Has anyone else got suggested spares providers?  460 & 463

They masquerade under 3/4 trading names and websites

Good but slowed after Brexit... but it's customs delays rather than them

Are you using the App? Cheaper prices, better offers and tracking is good once you go to the GLS website and change to English

SPARETO is another useful site but Continental again so similar issues with lead times

As you eluded to so are MB Germany

Every supplier is struggling with production demands that are growing, actual production that is sporadic and delayed and raw material shortages that are hitting every sector in every country and are only going to get worse unfortunately

And classic G Wagen parts production is probably not high up on the world agenda right now

It's a case of plan where you can and suck up what you can't I'm afraid

I am trying to keep a few of the basic stuff in my garage to help people out but hey I'm just one man and struggle to find time now...

Perhaps the GWOA could use bank funds to hold stocks of basics that would keep a G VOR, might be a better shout than merchandise and shiny things that we're done in the past

A few grand would get a good basic stock, but obviously time.. resource.. packaging etc need to be thought about along with liability

Just my thoughts John...

Not a bad proposal. I think its worth it for a set of the usual parts that are universal across the models. To be discussed I think.

Hi guys parts wise for me its always here this forum or Ebay worldwide!

I always look at 'Albert Boumas' website for parts - he's a good chap I have been to his workshop with mrs.

His parts/sales websites: https://www.g-klasse.nl/onderdelen-voorraad/

Next would be Kor Millinars place:  https://shop.g-center.nl/en/search?q=&p=1

both Webshops have w460 and w463 parts on a regular.

I cant seem to find a g wagon specialist here in the UK

As rare as the cars are so are the parts!

Autodoc is good for giving detail and equivalent part numbers,  which can help with searching for spares elsewhere,  certainly sending items abroad has much harder

B****t was a Hefalump trap for the gullible. Autodoc, Google and The G-W Guru do it for us.

The Autodoc/123spareparts tracking is there, but it never shows an ETA.  It just flags when the Order is being processed (how long), in transit (how long), arrived at courier (how long)..etc.  I never know if it will take a few days, or more often 2+ weeks.  But they are OK.
