EDC light comes on when Diffs are locked and "Low" engaged (along with the "!" and "ABS" light)
I observed the "EDC" light came on when the three Diffs were locked and "Low" engaged when I went off-road for the first time on Sunday.
(The "LOW", "!" and "ABS" lights came on as described in the owners' manual.)
Is the "EDC" light supposed to come on?
Thank you.
Erik.
Not sure what year your G is and I don't know what EDC stands for, but I don't think that it should be illuminated. Has your manual got a description of the various warning lights including what EDC is?
I think that EDC stands for ELECTRONIC DIESEL CONTROL and if illuminated permanently means that the engine is in limp mode and full power is restricted. My understanding is the warning light comes on if there is a drop in fuel pressure or excess water in the diesel filter although I am sure there are other reasons that will activate it.
There were several EDC faults reported by owners of the first batch of the G350 BlueTEC models 2010-2011 where the light would come on intermittently for no apparent reason.
What model and year is your G wagon ?
I'm afraid the new Gs are beyond me. Certainly the edc light should not be illuminating when the diffs are operated. you will probably need a MB diagnostic machine to track down the fault.
The engine is the 300CDI.
The year of manufacture is 2011.
Once I reset the Diffs and go back to the HIGH range, the warning lights go out.
I'd like to find out if anyone experiences the same.
