Hi,

I recently bought a 2000 (W Reg) G500 RHD G500 LWB. The Spare wheel and bracket was removed and separate from the vehicle.

I want to ensure I have all the correct parts to install the bracket and spare wheel back on to the car. Can anyone supply Drawing  / Instructions

Re: Drawing / Instructions to install Spare Wheel Bracket

Thanks I appreciate the help. It looks as if I am most if not all of the parts to put it back on.
The chap I bought the car from said that in his opinion the car "handled" better without the wheel and bracket in place. Is there a consensus on whether or not that is the case?

Re: Drawing / Instructions to install Spare Wheel Bracket
That seems an odd statement. The vehicle weighs something in the order of 2.4 tonnes so I can't see a spare wheel making much difference. Who wants to get stuck with a puncture in the middle of nowhere without a spare wheel? Perhaps the character never ventured far from suburbia but, even then, having no spare seems as if it might be a silly omission. Only my two penn'orth.

I really don't think removing the spare would make any difference to the handling but it does make it easier to open and shut the rear door without the extra weight.

The mounting bracket can be fitted in two positions of tyre height from the ground.

Keeping, I think the cut side of the triangle top side set the wheel to sit high but turning around the bracket either clockwise or anti-clockwise set the wheel mount to sit a touch lower, your preference and choice. Make sure you use thread lock to secure the bolts otherwse these do loosen over time.
