Hi, I'm a newbie on here! I finally got my hands on an old G Wagen, a 1986 swb, originally a 280GE that a friends friend dropped a Isuzu 2.8TD lump into (it's sweet as) This is going to be a ongoing project for some time! considering the age the underneath is pretty damn good, the body needs some work...she drives, although the brakes are binding as has been stood for sometime.....

My first question is where can I get a manual from??

And secondly the diff lock controls i.e the two levers near the handbrake.....how should they work as mine are stuck / seized! do they move up / down or side to side?? probably sounds like a dumb question :-/  but I have no idea and don't want to bend or wreck them until I know what direction they should move.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks

GG

Re: Diff Lock controls....

Welcome to G ownership,

The difflock controls just pull up by about  3"  they operate an over-centre lever onto a master cylinder, one for each axle. the reservoir is the small round one bolted to the battery tray.  the two mastercylinders can be removed as an assembly so you can overhaul the levers and the cylinders.

If you need any parts, give me a PM or a call, I have a few Gs we're selling some parts from. I can ship up to Orkney
