British Summer Times has begun.........but don't forget to wish you Mum a Happy Mothers Day :-)

I thought that I would start a post/thread to get some information of how to get the best out of my latest G purchase.

Before I go any further apologies to Axel, Tony, Gordon and Gav who have given me so much help, advice and encouragement in one day getting a diesel conversion to my Manual 463 SWB.

However, 'G Fever' as Mr Spider has previously worded it has once again got the better of my brain and my heart and made me join the 'Total Petrol Power' with 'Burr Walnut' and 'Black Leather' Brigade.

I'm off later to pick it up as soon as the papers come through and will also hopefully catch up in Fred on Monday when in Scotland.

Once again apologies to the Somerset Diesel Guru's and hope that my 'Stepping over to the dark side' hasn't made you think any less of me?

I realise that fuel economy may be a issue and perhaps Joe can let me know what fuel economy he gets out of his 'Black Leather Pimp Mobile' ?

Thanks
Tim

Re: British Summer Time, Mothers Day and a New G

so , lets get this straight , you bring your  463 swb 300ge  down for me to sort out the the 'undiagnosed' long term vibration problem. i find the cause and sort it out , and you then rush off into the 'wide blue yonder' and buy a v8 500 lwb fully loaded blah blah blah .

you sir ,are a gimp - and that is an end to it.angrylaugh

p.s. i hope you remembered to take the extra seat belt out of your swb (the one for your poodle)

Gav,

The lure of the Elephant you know what ruffled leather door cards was just too much.

Please can you look into the black mats and load cover as I have sent you the pictures.

I'm sure 'The Wurzels' will get over it :-)

Mr Sheen.......Oh sorry that's what I buff the walnut with

OK, I got the pictures, not sure MB still do the Black Lambs wool carpets anymore, but i will come back to you ASAP....they will not be cheap but i guess i am missing the point now...?

I see you have changed your "location" to North Norfolk? A better kind of dwelling away from all those farmers... or is that where you have the boat moored now for the summer?

Fred,

I will catch up with you in Edinburgh tomorrow but I haven't even picked up the New G yet as I am still waiting clearance on it from where it is located in Scotland. It may be a couple of weeks before all done but it was too good to miss. I'll explain more tomorrow night

I have packed the bullion for you from Axel.

Re: British Summer Time, Mothers Day and a New G

Joe,

Thanks for your kind welcoming voicemail but I am stuck in boring meetings in Princes Street, Edinburgh at the moment. (Great view of the castle though)

Hopefully, I should be free later as I should be traveling northwards to collect my new G.

It is a long story about my find as it has been privately used on a Scottish estate and is on personal plates. Only Brendon Rogers (Liverpool top of premier league) can be as excited as me :-)

Another one ticked of the bucket list........unfortunately I'll never be able to tick Jill Dando, a beer with George Best or a round of golf with Seve off :-(

I've upset Axel and Gordon but ces la vi !

Appropriately I will be eating French as  I will hopefully seeing Fred tonight :-)

Regards

Tim

Re: British Summer Time, Mothers Day and a New G

Cr*p story so I apologise beforehand.. But I've had a beer with George Best! I worked in a bar in Wimbledon in the mid nineties and his missus (Alex) used to work there and brought him in. My surname is Best.. so we were introduced and we had a brief chat but he wasn't much interested and we didn't talk football as I have no interest in that! laugh

See, told ya! Awful story but at least I get to say I met him once.. I was also working there when Andre Agassi and Brooke Shields used to come in for breakfast during the tennis..

I'm a relative newcomer around these parts and besides the Ferry is the other side of the river, I'd have to take the ferry to get there! Saracens Head is my local but it's a bit of a trek back up the hill laugh

Last time I was in Edinburgh was to watch Wales v Scotland last year, good fun, great city!

With your buying habits lately, drinking in Scotland with a Frenchman i would watch yourself....surprise

Make sure you don't wake up tomorrow owning a matching pair of V8's!!! A LHD one for the holiday home in the Algarve... yes certainly don't go to that casino he owns uses...

Anyway i have been chatting to Mike earlier and he thinks to cheer Tony up, that maybe he could do you a proper deal on an OM606 LA conversion before May after all..... I think Tony has blown his Lawnmower engine and thinks the M113 V8 might just have enough torque frown

Gav,

Casino......yes I put all my money on red and Fred Black and guess what? It came in Green :-)

Filled the G up early this morning £147 and have drove 48 miles and it is on just over 1/4 full.....is that right? If so, Mike will have to do his business....

And thinking of posts last night from Mr Tango....Symonds Yat and Ross on Wye what a beautiful part of the world that is...one of the best places in the UK.

Anyway must dash as need to find a petrol station :-(

Re: British Summer Time, Mothers Day and a New G

this is a load  of industrial strength 'wind up'

the norfolk gimp has indeed scooped himself one of the nicest 463 lwb's for sale recently , it is NOT V8 it is 300 petrol.

 APRIL FOOLER

he was overcome after taking possession of his lwb with leather and wood ,and conjured up this work of fiction to catch himself a SPIDERIV .

anyone who has seen the film pulp fiction will know what can happen to 'the fly' if the spider catches up with it....

best you stay hidden in norfolk boy.

i think you should put us all out of misery and post up some pictures of your new 'g'

Re: British Summer Time, Mothers Day and a New G

Joe,

You have helped me keep the faith :-) ......sorry seems to be the hardest word!

Had a great meal and beer with Fred and I want him to record an answer phone message for me. It's like having David Ginola as a fast dial contact on your phone.

Now meeting Richard Well to drop off some 463 seats.

All above is true.....promise.

I know it will come back with interest but you more than anyone told me to meet face to face where possible and have a bit of fun.......

Incy Wincy Spider1V please don't fret.
This story developed a bit of a bet!
We had to cajole and set the right bait.
I have a new truck but it's not a V8.

The post unfurled lips started to quibble.
Whilst we patiently waited for old Spider1V to nibble.
True to form you didn't let us down.
However, for a while we did start to frown.

As always you'll be Wood 'n' Leather.....The V8 king.
I'll await the abuse when you decide to ring :-)
Good humour and banter was was the theme of this thread.
Petrol V Diesel can now go to bed.

Whatever your flavour or size of the  block.
It's your own preference.....what makes your tic tock.
Each to their own to make their choice.
Share on the forum with pics and a voice.

The new truck is a joy it's got full burr walnut wood.
Not quite like yours when you lift up the hood.
It suits my needs and is a great tool.
Have a great day Spider1V and Happy April Fool

You are a top guy and keep smiling.

HAHAHA

Love it wink

Spider Vader...has quite a ring .... devil

Tim, if that little ditty is all your own work.... either....

a) You have too much time on your hands sad

b) You're in the wrong job surprise

c) The 300 has broken down on the way home from France Scotland and the AF is on you cheeky

You now best avoid large swathes of Southern and Western England enlightened

Don't want any mid 90's 463's ending up for sale like this....

Gav,

A surreal day......now having a McDonald's with Richard Wells in Newark.

Perhaps I should start a G Wagen Good Food Guide?

10/10 for  L'escargot bleu from last night, McDonald's always gets a big 7/10 and I've even tasted Muffins in Somerset and Jam Tarts made in Beaconosfield :-)

Tonight is my favourite......Cromer Crab

Have you actually a death wish?

Are you trying to insulate and aggravate all the G500 owners in the UK?

Comparing Fred's establishment on the same scale as a McD is surely bad enough, but just 3 points to separate...
