Going to see this one tomorrow. Any knowledge of or views on price would be great, thanks.

Looks good M8. On the bulkhead the air scope for the heater just at each side on the inside it looks like rust holes.

Has had a respray at some point so just make sure it's not full of filler. You sound like your well on the ball.

GOOD LUCK!!

Thanks Tony. Turns out John Dring and I are old friends, so he came up to see it with me. Now the new owner!

I liked its originality.  Steelies and no flares.  Still got the orange indicators. Plastic not carpet for lining.  It was just off the road for many years and had a replacement engine which ran pretty nicely.  One single jump-seat in the rear and bodywork good all round.  Needs some work on the seats and of course the blower is not working.  Something for TallJohn to worry about in the winter when it gets cold and you need heating.

I will pay my membership, download some workshop manuals and get cracking with that heater!

Good for you. May you enjoy it. As for the blower: Disconnect battery. Remove steering wheel. Remove front seats etcetera...

lol.  I managed twice without removing seats or steering wheel!  But TallJohn may move the seat back a bit anyway, and they were in good order (the bolts to the floor, less so the seat fabric).

Legend has it, you could replace a blower by reaching down the air box.  But I tried and failed this option.  You need very dextrous fingers and somehow to apply heat to the plastic propeller to pull it off, AND know where the wires are and how to pull those off.  Just go steady removing the whole dash.  You will lose a couple of screws, and some knuckle skin, but eventually get to disconnect the water in and out pipes and get to the housing, which pries apart to reveal an easy motor/blower replacement.  Available from Autodoc last time I did it.  Check the speed resistor wires are intact.  Also remember to clear the drain pipe of crud in the air box which is what causes water to fill and pass over the fan motor in the first place.

Big note:  While you have the whole dash out, is a good time to do the wiper spindles with a spindle kit.  If its not been done.  But it looked pretty solid to me.  You need a bit of rain to see first.

I would swap the resistor whilst you're in there, inexpensive part... and you really don't want to do the job twice!
