Auto gear box
Hello. My '89 460 has auto gear box. Since I have owned it the kick down has not worked. Looking at the gear box from the rear, there looks to be a solenoid switch with a cable attached on the left hand side behind a metal screen . Is this the kick down switch? The cable connections look ok. When operating the switch under the throttle pedal there is a clicking sound as if the solenoid is not working correctly. Any suggestions please. Regards. John

on my 460 300gd the kick down is operated by vacuum
the switch is on top of the rocker cover plastic bits with
small brown pipes to it then to the IP the bit with the (red hat)
On my 460 280GE the kickdown switch is mounted under the throttle pedal... if you press it right down it presses the switch.
