Morning.

Trying to diagnose the ABS light staying on and guessing it's a speed sensor fault. Was going to purchase one and try it on each wheel but if anyone has any suggestions or ideas to try first that would be appreciated.

1993 G300 SWB auto.

Thanks.

You can usually test the Ohm reading with a multi meter to see if its within spec

Not cheap and hard to find good quality sensors

Re: ABS sensor change - Easy job?

Thank you. Electrics are not my strong point, would you mind giving me a bit of a guide on how to do the test?

I've found AUTODOC really helpful for some parts to date, hoping they'll come through but found some Bosch's sensors online if not.

Sensors are autodoc part for front but not rear? Chassis number specific, lots more money.

You would be best to start at the front on this basis,  also if not been separated ( the connection) really hard to separate.  You have to compare the ohm ratings, one will be way out , bound to be some tutorial on this( forgotten as was years ago on mine) also if you remove sensor double check you take the O ring as well as two will mess it up as I found out,

Does abs light stay on all the time? Resets?

Relay, might be worth checking 1st?

The ABS light will also stay on if your OVP (over voltage protection) relay has failed or is faulty, this causes very poor starting from cold.  If you can start your G ok when cold  you can rule out the OVP as the cause of the ABS light staying on.
