Good afternoon.

I have only had a brief description over the phone from my mechanic, more details to follow this weekend, but it seems the flywheel on my 300 GE is missing a tooth or two on the flywheel due to starting problems.

If this is the case where is the best place to purchase a new one, presume they are readily available?

Also whilst gearbox etc is out are there any mods, upgrades or alterations that any one recommends?

Thanks

Hi

Flywheel plates are readily available and dont cost much. Just make sure you get the complete plate with ring gear as most are welded on and balanced from factory so you cant just fit a ring gear to many auto flywheels without difficulty

As the top thread claims the ring gear maybe welded on in which case you will need complete flywheel with ring gear but on some vehicles the ring gear could be available separately. These are usually heated up and placed onto the fly wheel and as it cools down, it will form a tight fit. Care is needed not to overheat the ring gear.
