Hi All,

hope you are all well. Havent been on the site for years!

Well i am doing more and more trips down to the Alps from UK nowadays, and fancy a more modern G to do it in.

My G500 has been fantastic and ive spent a lot of money getting it how i want it..

I think would like something newer and so started looking at the last of the W463, especially the final edition G63 models.

I am a Mercedes specialist by trade but dont have a lot to do with modern G Wagens.

Any particular issues I should know about at that age?

Are the Bi Turbo units reliable?

Im hoping to go for something with no more than 30K miles and keep it for some years.

Weird one, but does any one know If I can unbolt my 9 seat benches and fit them into the new model? They come in handy when im with the family!

Cheers All!

Re: 2013-2016 G63 Twin Turbo

I can see its been years!  Welcome back.  A G63 would be amazing, especially to a G veteran.

I have 2012 G350 (fcelift) and I can say the mod cons make it thoroughly modern and no longer like driving a classic car. i get completely different vibes to when driving the older 460.

I dont see any reason why the jump seats wouldn't fit in any LWB 463.  For what you describe, anything post 2012 is what you want.

I can't comment on the bi-turbo.  You might have better insight yourself in the MB world.  I just know it sounds lovely.

Thanks! If anyone else has insight, be great to hear.

Ill likely be posting the 500 for sale soon too. If anyone has interest in a lovely LHD G500, let me know!

The Jump seats have a bracket on the backrest that is secured by four bolts that go through the trim panel into captive nuts on the side of the G. On non factory fitted jump seat models you would need to drill the four holes through the trim panel behind the jump seat to allow access to the captive nuts. The problem would be if the captive nuts are no longer fitted by the factory on later models due to safety legislation banning side facing passenger seats.  Does anyone know if the nuts are still there?
