Hi all,

I live in Tunbridge Wells and am the proud owner of a Silver LHD 1988 230GE LWB with long range fuel tank and rear towbar as extras. It is in silver and has been re-imported from Portugal where it has been since the early 1990s!

I have had a few things done to her to get her back how she should be but she requires another 1400 odd quid to get her upto standard. Ian matthews did a wonderful job getting her roadworthy for the UK!

I really would like some advice as to how much the old bird is worth as I have no clue at the moment!

Welcome to the club !

Hard to say without  knowing the specifics about condition. You might look at classified ads as a guide, but LHD in the UK will be a BIG minus on resale price. You can see that a relatively new, LHD, from say 2002 will often sell for less than a comparable RHD one from 1992. Personally, I often drive to Europe, so LHD is actually a bonus for me, but it does affect price in the UK.

Also, for the 460 series, as you have, the UK cars were usually of much higher spec than those sold in the rest of Europe. This was because they were pitched at Range Rover level.

You probably would not find a 230 engine in a LWB version.

But having said all that, the value, after 30 years, is mostly down to the condition of the vehicle. Probably, having been in Portugal, it should be in good condition with little or no rust, which should be a major plus.
