Lots of beemers and a few classy MBs.  The noisy tuned ones were testing their exhausts (I assume that's what they were doing).

The Ace Cafe does comfort food (burgers etc) and a few beers.  The Boddies I had was not up to much and the Lasagna gave a splitting headache.  I mean splitting.  Hope its not the virus!  (no temperature, so should be fine).

There is a MB Club night on the 18th July, and a 'Unique Wagons' one on the 18th April.  Both Saturdays.  But I think a proper car rally is better - you cannot see anything at night and there was no organisation - just siloes of mates.

Many thanks for the report Jdring. In a way I'm glad I didn't brave the M23/M25/M40.

As you say, a proper car rally sounds a better bet. Doesn't anyone know of any good prospects for when the weather improves? Maybe a Mercedes or 4x4 themed event during the summer?

There's a pretty goog listing of car shows here:  https://findmecarshows.uk/events/ 

Not much MB or 4x4 though.  Better to go by recommendation if anyone  knows.  Last year for the 40th, I think they had a G-Wagen contingent, organised by MB UK.  I will try to ask them if they have anyting planned in 2020.
