Hmmm, my ould father was wrong

in that gearboxes do need an oil change occasionally

I hasten to add my oft referred to Galaxy wot stuck in 5th gear in England Friday past.
Its a long storey had happened before etc etc.
Ford stripped the box down & could find nothing wrong etc etc,
Anyway got enough gears to get home, fortunately I had tools with me, no reverse or 5th gear mind
Mechanic took a look at her this morning
drained the gearbox oil for starters to check if there were any bits in the oil.
refilled gearbox, did ABSOLUTLY NOWT ELSE.
Did not in any way interfere with the cables or selectors
tried the box
PERFECT
If anyone else had told me that storey :roll:
