230 GE Auto Owner

Hi all

Should have introduce myself months ago…just never have enough time in the day.

So I am the owner of a very basic 26 year old GE 230 SWB Auto. Yes the one I asked some questions about back in March/April I think. Thanks once again for all the replies. 

Home is currently in Taplow in South Bucks.

So this will be my first Gelandewagen that I own…my family had a couple many years ago with which I grown-up with on the farm.  I know there are loads of better, stronger…fancier and more expensive models available…but I wanted to start at the basis and aim to work my way up with time.

I am a keen offroader with most of my experience in Rock, Desert and Sand parts of the world with Landcruisers, Wranglers and also Hiluxes

Future plans..

  1. well to meet some of you and hopefully to join you with some Green Lane trips. Hopefully I can make the AGM this year for a starter.
  2. I am not a fashion or a speed hugger and would like to build the 230 into an capable offroader. So suspension lift and larger tyres would be first on my list if needed…I found over the years that for a vehicle to perform to its best ability, it’s sometimes better to keep these specialise type vehicles to factory standard… Well I am all ears for advice how I can make the 230 a better offroader because I can see that quite a few off you have already done so.
  3. To have fun with the Gelandewagen and fellow owners.
